Postdoctoral Fellowship in Global Mental Health

The Department of Anthropology is currently advertising a position for a Postdoctoral Fellow in Global Mental Health. The fellow will work under the supervision of Dr. Janis H. Jenkins (UCSD Anthropology and Psychiatry) to prepare grant proposals, IRB protocols, convene meetings, collect, organize, and analyze existing and incoming data on adolescent mental health from diverse locales, particularly Spanish-speaking communities. Applicants should demonstrate a strong familiarity with the emerging field of Global Mental Health, expertise with qualitative and quantitative software programs, as well as other scholarly tools (Endnote; Adobe; Excel).  Candidate must have demonstrated strong writing, analytic, organizational and communicative skills and capacity to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary research team. Applications from psychologists, medical anthropologists, and allied fields are welcome to apply.  Applicants with funded grant-writing experience and Spanish-language abilities are particularly desirable. 

 

This appointment offers the possibility to be involved in cutting edge cross-disciplinary research in Global Mental Health.

The appointment length will be for 12 months (with possibility of renewal for 2 years, contingent on pending and prospective grants for submission)

The successful candidate must have completed his/her PhD at the time of appointment.


Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and based on UC San Diego salary scales.
